Linkedin started publishing data on hospitality industry managers, linking their profiles to where they went to school, and where they work today. While at the beginning a bit surprised by how many Florida International University graduates, it makes a lot of sense. Looking at the FIU website, the school has strong relationships with Hilton and Starwood Hotels for internship and job placements, and many of the FIU students complete their graduation requirement of 1,000 hours of on-the-job training at these companies.
And who hires in the hospitality industry? No surprise – the heavyweights – Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, and Starwood Hotels and Resorts are the top employers for hospitality graduates from the three schools, based on the data.
